Cubic centimeters (cm³) to Centiliters (cL) Conversion
Cubic centimeters
The cubic centimetre (cm³) is a unit of volume equal to exactly one millilitre (1 mL). It is used interchangeably with mL in medicine and chemistry. In mechanical engineering, engine displacement is traditionally expressed in cubic centimetres (cc) or in litres: a 2.0 L engine has a displacement of 2,000 cc. The cubic centimetre is also used in materials science for expressing density (g/cm³).
Centiliters
The centilitre is a unit of volume equal to one hundredth of a litre (10 mL), used primarily in Europe for expressing beverage servings and wine bottle volumes. A standard wine glass serving in European restaurants is typically 12.5 cL, and spirits are commonly served in 2.5 or 5 cL measures. The centilitre is rarely used in scientific contexts, where millilitres and litres are preferred.
