Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms, given the nature of a free informational service and the limited personal data processed.
4 - Cookies & Consent
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies in the following categories:
| Category | Purpose | Consent Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Required for basic website functionality (e.g. your cookie consent preference). | No — always active |
| Advertising / Marketing | Set by Google AdSense to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. | Yes — opt-in required |
In compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, non-essential cookies (including advertising cookies from Google AdSense) are placed on your device only after you have given your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent via our cookie consent banner displayed on your first visit.

5 - Google AdSense & Advertising
This Website uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"), a subsidiary of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google AdSense uses cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to display advertisements tailored to your interests based on your browsing activity on this and other websites. The data Google collects through AdSense may include:
- Your IP address
- Device type, browser type and settings
- Interactions with advertisements (clicks, impressions)
- Browsing behaviour across websites participating in the Google Display Network
This processing only takes place if you have consented to advertising cookies via our cookie consent banner.
ConvertForMe.net and Google act as independent controllers in respect of this data. For information on how Google processes your data, please review:
- Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google's Ad Settings: myadcenter.google.com
You may also enable or disable personalised advertising through Google's Ad Personalisation settings.
6 - Third-Party Services & Links
The Website may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of those websites. When you click an external link, we recommend you review that website's privacy policy. We accept no responsibility for third-party data processing.
7 - International Data Transfers
Some of the third-party services described in this Privacy Policy (in particular Google AdSense / Google LLC) are based in the United States of America. When your data is transferred to the USA, such transfers take place on the basis of appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR, specifically:
- EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework adopted by the European Commission in Decision (EU) 2023/1795, which provides an adequate level of data protection for transfers to certified US organisations.
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Where the DPF does not apply or additional safeguards are required, transfers are governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission pursuant to Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914.
You can obtain a copy of the applicable safeguards by contacting us at the address in Section 1.
8 - Data Retention
| Data Type | Retention Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Server access logs | Up to 7 days (standard) or up to 30 days if needed for security investigation | Operational security |
| Contact enquiries (e-mail) | Up to 3 years after resolution of the enquiry | Statute of limitations (§ 195 BGB) |
| Cookie consent records | 12 months (or until consent is withdrawn) | Demonstrating lawful consent |
| Google AdSense data | Determined by Google — see Google's Privacy Policy | Google's own retention policies |
After the applicable retention period, data is deleted or anonymised in a manner that prevents re-identification, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law (e.g. § 147 AO, § 257 HGB for commercial records).
9 - Children's Privacy
The Website is not directed at children. Pursuant to Article 8 GDPR as implemented in German law, the processing of personal data of persons under the age of 16 years based on consent requires parental or guardian authorisation in Germany.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data without appropriate parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us, please contact us at the address in Section 1.
10 - Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data processing practices, applicable law, or technology. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users (e.g. through a prominent notice on the Website).
We recommend that you review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data. Your continued use of the Website after any update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy, without prejudice to your right to object or withdraw consent at any time.
